Amber Conerly was born in Montana and, as part of a military family, grew up all over the country. She attended the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, where she studied music, psychology and religious studies.
Being well traveled and educated in cultural differences, Amber became adept at understanding, sympathizing, and helping others overcome the challenges that most families endure. Unfortunately, none of that was of any help to her in July of 2013, when she experienced a life-altering event.
Without prior experience, or much warning, Amber performed her very own unplanned "home"-birth. It was then, that she suddenly understood, on a primitive level, the strength and power that came naturally with her womanhood. Feeling so empowered, Amber began her journey to help other women discover the strength that already resided within themselves.
In 2015, Amber trained as a Doula through the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA). Her focuses were in labor support, postpartum care and lactation education. She furthered her knowledge by training in Placenta Encapsulation, Bengkung Belly Binding, and Yoni steaming. With these qualifications, she established Artemis Birth and Doula Services.
Amber has utilized her education and personal experiences to empower countless women to be strong, confident, and capable. In 2017, and again in 2018, Artemis Birth and Doula Services was chosen as "Top Doula Services" in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Amber has since moved to North Carolina and quickly established herself as, “a subject matter expert", "a consultant", "accessible” and “an advocate” within her community. Her enthusiasm for demystifying pregnancy and childbirth and her support of all birthing options makes her an invaluable resource to all pregnant women and their partners.
